Plants annual herbs. Leaves opposite. Capitula small, usually radiate; phyllaties in 1-3 series; receptacles with bracts subending the flowers. Ray flowers female. Disc flowers bisexual. Achenes more or less obconical; pappuses of scacles, sometimes absent from ray flowers.
Galinsoga is a genus of about 12 species. One species, Galinsoga parvifolia, is known from Somaliland. Thulin states that a second, Galinsoga quadriradiata, is likely to be found in Somaliland and/or Somalia. A key to the 2 species is presented here.
