Pants small shrubs or annual herbs, often with resin channels. Leaves usually alternate, less often partially opposite or sulate, sometimes clustered, usually entire. Capitula usually terminal, on distinct peduncles, radiate; involucres semi-orbicular or cylindric, phyllaries in 3-4 series; ray flowers female; disk flowers bisexual, narrowly campanulate, 5-lobed; style branches with triangular appendages; anthers with obtuse bases and obtusely triangular appendages. Achenes ovoid, flattened with lateral ribs, often hairy, without glands; pappuses of numerous hairs or bristles, in one series, persistent of deciduous.
Felicia is a genus of about 85 species. All are native to Africa, one extends into Arabia. One species, Felicia abyssinica, grows in Somaliland. None are known from Somalia.
