Plants annual or perennial herbs or shrubs, densely covered with bifid appressed hairs that are attached at the middle. Leaves undivided, entire, linear to elliptic. Inflorescence a raceme. Flowers without subtending bracts; sepals erect, connivent, not saccate; petals white, pink to purple, or yellow. Fruit a flat silique with a wide septum, outer wals with an indistinct midveing. Seeds uniseriate, flat, suborbicular in outline.
There are 25 species of Farsetia. They grow in area areas from Morocco through Afghanistan to northwest India and southwards to northern Tanzania.
