Plants perennial herbs or shrublets, richly branched, covered by stellate hairs. Leaves imdivided, rounded. Inflorescences racemes, without bracts. Sepals erect, the inner slightly cupulate at the base; corollas medium-sized to large' petals violet to pink, or yellow; styles very short. Fruits siliques, tardily dehiscent, with transverse septa between the seeds; valves often keeled, horned, or winged; seeds uniseriate, compressed, red-brown, finely reticulate, mucilaginus.
Diceratella has 9 species, 7 native to northeast tropica Africa, 2 to Iran.
