Plants acaulescent. solitary. Leaves about 70 cm long, 12 cm wide, ereect, green with white spots and prominently toothed margins. Inflorescences to 175 cm tall, with up to 3 branches; racemes fairly densely packed, conical in outline; bracts about 10 mm long; pedicels 6-8 mm long. Flowers red or yellow, nutant; perianths cylindrical, somewhat curved.
Aloe officinalis is native to southwest Arabia but is (?was) cultivated in regions N1 and S2 of the Flora of Somalia,
