Plants acaulescent or with decumbent stems up to 50 cm long, in groups of various sizes. Leaves about 20, 40-50 cm long, 10-12 cm wide, lanceolate-triangular, ascending to spreading, grey-green with a rddish tinge; margins toothed; teeth about 3 mm long, 10-20 mm apart, brownish, sharp, hard. Inflorescences to 100 cm tall, with 2-4 branches; branches to 25 cm long, the flowers form a cylindric-acuminate outline, subdense; bracts about 9 mm long, 4 mm wide; pedicels about 5 mm long. Flowers bright reddish pink, minutely pubescent, pendent; perianths about 32 mm long, 6 mm wide across the ovary, outer tepals free for about 9 mm; anthers exserted 3-4 mm; ovary about 7 mm long, 3 mm wide; stigma exserted about 5 mm.
Aloe glabrescens grows in semi-desert flats, mainly on gypsum or limestone, at elevations of 800-1000 m. It is known from region N2 of the Flora of Somalia. It is not known from elsewhere. The plants referred to the the Flora of Somalia as possibly representing another species have since been described as Aloe ....
