Plants caulescent, shrubby; stems to 40 cm long. Leaves 5-15, 20-30 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, forming a lax rosetter, fleshy and rigid, glaucous green, sometimes sparsely spotted; margins toothed; teeth to 1 mm long, 10-20 mm apart, white, cartilaginous. Inflorescences to 100 cm long, with up to 8 spreading branches, flower-bearing portion 4-12 cm long, the flowers well-spaced. Flowers red or yellow, nutant; perianth about 20 mm long, 7 mm wide across the ovary, outer tepals free for 6 mm; anthers not exserted; ovary about 6 mm long, 2 mm wide; stigma exserted 1-2 mm.
Alie amibigens grows in bushland on steep limestone rock faces at about 250 m. It is known only from region C1 of the Flora of Somalia.
