Prunus ebeurnea is a wild almond species native to Iran. It is a dense shrub, 0.2-1.2 m tall, with a grey bark. It is morphologically similar to Prunus lycioides, Prunus spinosissima, Prunus erioclada, and Prunus brahuicai. It differs from these species in having a pubescent hypanthium. Genetic and morphological analysis shows that it is a godd species, its closest relative being Prunus erioclada (Yazbek 2010). Prunus x iransharii is a hybrid between Prunus scoparia and Prunus eburnea (Vafadar et al. 2014).
