Plants trees or shrubs. Leaves even-pinnate. Inflorescences short, axillary racemes, usually polygamous or dioecious, rarely flowers bisexual. Calyces shortly 5-lobed; petals absent; stamens 4-5; pods oblong, compressed, tthicked at sutures, with many seeds.
