Plants annual, prostrate to procumbent. Stems 30-50 cm long, profusely branched, slender, densely covered with long hairs. Leaves simple: stipules3–7 mm long,triangular to linear, scarious, striate, glabrous with ciliate margins, acute; petiole 5–6 mm, hairy; blades15–35 mm long, 5–20 mm wide,ovate to oval, tip rounded to mucronulate, both surfaces hairy, lower surface more densely hairy than upper. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, 50–150 mm long, lax with stiff hairs. Flowers in pairs, 2–3 pairs along each rachis, subtended by a deciduous primary bract and secondary bracts; primary bract 3–4 mm long, rounded to ovate, margins ciliate with long hairs, tip acute; secondary bracts 1–3 mm long, lanceolate to triangular, margins ciliate with long hairs; pedicels 3–5 mm long.Calyx2–3 mm long, much shorter than the first joint of the pod; tube about 1 mm long, not imbricated, ciliate all over, acute. Corolla: standard petal2–3 mm long, light pink, emarginate; wing petals3–3.5 mm long, dark pink; keel petals about 3 mm long, boat-shaped, bent and folded. Stamens diadelphous, 2–3 mm long. Ovary 1.5–3 mm long, pubescent. Pods 15–20 mm long, 1.5–2 mm broad, cylindrical,compressed, 5–7 jointed, clothed with straight and hooked hairs, septa between two joints of pod boat-shaped,easily separable. Seeds 2 × 1 mm, light to dark brown,oval, smooth; seed coat rugulate.
Alysicarpus poklianus is morphologically most similar to Alysicarpus hamosus but differs in having ovate leaves, rounded-ovate bracts, larger size of calyx, pods comprising 5–7 longer than broad segments with easily separable septa.
