Plants erect, annual or perennial herbs up to 1.5 m tall, lower parts glabrous, upper parts densely glabdular pubescent; stems usually 4-angled towards the base. Leaves sessile, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, up to 15(-30) cm long and 6(-0) cm wide, never glaucous, bases decurrent, tips obtuse to acute, margins seerrate or crenate. Flowers pediciellate; pedicels 1-3(-10) mm long; sepals united for 1-8(-11) mm, free portions ovate to oblong-elliptic, 2.5-13 mm long; corollas yellow or orange, rarely pinkish, tube 8-15 mm long, lobes 2.6-6.5 mm long, rounded and mucronate, mucros up to 0.7 mm long; anthers included; carpels(5)6-9 mm long; styles 0.5-1(-1.5) mm long.
Kalanchoe lanceolata grows in woordland, bushland, or grassland at 1250-1350 m in regions N1 and N2 of the Flora of Somalia. Its range extends from Guniea to Arabia and India and sourth to South Africa and Madagascar.
