Plants succulent-stemmed shrubs 0.5-3.5 m tall, sometimes scandent; stems divaricately branched with more or less long, striate-sulcate pale greento glaucous internodes about 5-10 mm in diameter, with round leaf scars about 1-2 mm in diamter. Leaves fleshy, linear-oblong or narrowly lanceolate, up to 25 mm long and 4 mm wide, entire, deciduous. Heads narrowly cylindric, few to usually many in pedunculate cymes or unbranched clusters; calyculi of 1-4 bracts 0.5-3 m long; phyllaries 5-6, 8-11 mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, tips minutely pubescent. Pappuses dirty white, 11-25 mm long, shorter to longer than the corollas corollas white or yellowish, about 6-12, 13-16 mm long, lobes 1-1.5 mm long;stigmatic appendages shortly conical, papillose, usually with a central tuft of longer papillae. Achenes 4.5-5 mm long, pubescent.
Kleinia odora grows in Acacia-Commiphora bushlands and semidesert open scrub in sandy or rocky places at 75-1740 m, It grows in N1-3, C1, C2, and S3 regions of the Flora of Somalia. References to Kleina and anteuphorbium and Kleinia longiflora in Somalia are based on misidentification of Kleinia odora.
