H. Beentje (2005) Psiadia. Flora of Somalia 3: 527-528.
Plants usually shrubs or small trees, rarely climbers; stems glandular and vscid when young. Leaves alternate, often viscid, entire or serrulate. Inflorecences terminal corymbs of capitula. CApitula: phyllaris in several series, the outermost smallest, imbricate; receptacles without bracts between the flowers; outer flowers in 1-several rows, with rays or 2-3-dentate, their styles exserted; inner flowers functionally male; tubes narrowly funnel-shaped; anthers with obtuse bases. Achenes scarcely flattened, 3-10-ribbed, pubescent; pappuses uniseriate, of barbllate bristles, very shortly united at the base.
Psiadia includes 60 species. Most are native to Madagascar and the Mascarene Islands but a few grow in tropical and southern Africa and/or tropical Asia.
The Flora of Somalia reports two species for Somaliland and Somalia, both occurring in both countries.
