Plants perennial herbs or small shrubs. Leaves alternate. Inflorescences solitary or in corymbose clusters. Capitula discoid. Style branches long, linear. Achenes obovid, often ribbed, usually glabrous; pappuses of bristles.
Jurinea is a genus of about 240 species. It is native to Europe, Asia, and northen Africa. One species, Jurinea monocephala, grows in Somaliland. None is known from Somalia.
