Plants with densely pubescent or tomentose branchlets. Pods white-tomentose, with distinctly and often irregulary crenate margins.
Vachellia nilotica subsp. adstringens is known to be cultivated as a shade tree in regions C1-2 of the Flora of Somalia. It is also widesppread in northern tropical Africa, from Sudan west to Senegal.
