PLants up to 1 m tall, densely appressed silvery pubescent throught. Leaf rachises up to 10-35 mm long, including a petioles 5-12 mm long. Leaflets 3-5(-7), opposite, obovate,up to 25 mm long and 20 mm wide. Racems subsessile, with about 10-20 flowers, shorter than the sutending leaves. Calyces about 1.2 mm long, lobes triangular, about as long as the tibes; banner petals brownish, outer surfaces strigulose; stamen 3 mm long. Pods 7-12 mm long, 3.5-4 mm wide, deflexed, straight or almost so, markedly torulose with globulose segments, indehiscent; seeds 2-4.
Indigofera articulata grows in grassland and bushland, at elevations up to about 1350 m. It is known from regiona N1-3 and C1-2 of the Flora of Somalia and from Sudan, Djibouti, Ethiopia, arabia, yemenm and Socotra.
