Plants shrubby herbs up to 1 m tall; stems densely strigulose. Leaf rachises up to 11 cm long including the petiole; petioles up to 1.5 cm long; leaflets 7-15, opposite, elliptic oblong, up to 19 mm long and 9 mm wide, lower surfaces strigulose, upper surfaces glabrous. Racemes up to 3.5 cm long, with many subsessile flowers. Calyces about 1.3 mm long, lobes about as long as the tubes, narrowly triangular; banner bronish, outer surfaces strigulose; stamens about 3 mm long. Pods up to 6 mm long and 3 mm wide, straight, deflexed, not torulose, indehiscent, crisp pubwscent; seeds 1-2(-3).
Indigofera amorphoides grows in bushland or woodland, along roadsides, and in arableland at 1000-1850 m. It is known from regions N1-3 of the Flora of Somalia and Ethiopia, Northern Kenya and Southern Arabia.
