Plants shrubs or trees to 6 m tall; branchlets slender, usually pndent, reddish-brown, glabrous. Leaves petiolate and digitately compound with 3 leaflets; petioles 3.5-5.5 cm long; middle leaflets lanceolate, 8-20 cm long, 0.7-4.7 cm wide, 3-7-11 times longer than wide, glabrous, tertiary veins not prominent, bases cuneate, margins often finely crisped, tips acute to acuminate. Panicles kax abd drooping, glabrous. Drupes subglobose, 3.5-4.5 mm in diameter, glossy, pinkish.
Searsia retinorrhoea grows in evergreen bushalnd, often near wells, at 840-1620 m, It is knoen from regions N1-3 of the Flora of Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethopia, Sudan, and tropical Arabia.
