Leaves linear-lanceolate, 6-15 cm long, 1.2-3 cm wide, acute. Calyx lobes 4-8 mm long; corollas usually pink, sometimes white and red; tube 12-20 mm long; lobes 20-25 mm long, obtuse. Follicles 8-15 cm long, 0.5-1 cm wide, erect,reddish brown.

Nerium oleander is native from the Mediterranean east to China. It is also widely cultivated, including in Africa.

Habit: Shrubs or small trees with white latex.

Leaves: usually in whorls of 3, sometimes in opposite pairs, evergreen, linear-lanceolate, 6-15 cm long, 1.2-3 cm wide.

Inflorescences: Terminal cymes

Flowers: Radially symmetric, with conspicuous, funnel-shaped corollas with tubes 12-20 mm long, small corona appendages at the throat, terminating in overlapping lobes 20-25 mm long.

Fruits: 2 elongated follicles with numerous pubescent seeds, each with a terminal tuft of hairs

Nerium oleander is cultivated as an ornamental species in many part os the world. It is native from the Mediterranean east to China.
