Plants small shrubs or erect to prostrate perennial herbs; brances appressed puberulent in Somaliland and Somalia. Leaves paripinnate, 3-12 cm long, eglandular; stipules 3-9 mm long, trianglular to ovate; triangular; leaflets (3-)4-6(-7) pairs. 1-4.3 cm long, 0.4-2(-2.7) cm wide, obovate-elliptic to pbovate-oblong,minutely appressed puberulent. Racemes axillary, 2-25 cm long; bracts 3-5 mm long, broadly ovate or elliptic, shortly acuminate, caducous. Sepals usually balckish or brownish except for hyaline margins; petals 08.-2 cm long, yellowish-white to bright yellow; stamens 9-10, 2 with large anthers, 4-5 medium-sized, 3 small, with apical pores. Pods 3-6 cm long, 1,3-2 cm wide, shortly oblonge-falcate, flattened, valves with evident transverse veins and a ridge of raised crests down the middle; seeds 6-7.5 mm long, 4-4.5 mm wide, 1.5-2.5 mm thick, transversely arranged in the pod, compressed, oblong-ovate, reticulate, with a small areole on each face, apiculate near hilum, often emarginate at opposite end.
There are two subspecies. They differ as shown in the following key. One subsp. micrantha, has been found so far in Somaliland and Somalia.
