KHU, the herbarium of the University of Khartoum, was founded in 1945. Its collections come primarily from Sudan and South Sudan. In 2015, a checklist of the Flora of Sudan and South Sudan was published in conjunction with the herbarium of the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew.
